Week ahead: Oracle looks to trim. The database giant's revenue dropped in the first quarter, but the company will try to change course at OracleWorld. Larry Ellison delivers his keynote via satellite from the America's Cup. [CNET News.com]

I don't get Oracle at all. They should be utterly unstopable but they charge too much, have pointless fights with Microsoft and generally seem to fail to capitalise on their strengths. We didn't even bother to consider them as a database provider for a project, and that's got to be a bad sign.
